Term 2 Workshop Catchments
The next workshop, which will be all about Litter and Pollution in our Catchments, and how drains lead to the sea, will be on:
Tuesday 16 June
In the morning we will be at Banyan Reserve, Luscombe Drive,Carrum Downs.
This is a sports oval, so has off road parking and a toilet block.
Meet at 9.30am for A 10am start.
Melbourne Water contractors will be emptying a litter trap and we will learn about how the man made wetlands clean the storm water.
In the afternoon, we meet at the car park and play area next to the boat ramp on Governor Road.
This id near the footbridge across the creek from Mordialloc College.
The car park itself has charges but there is some free paring on the street. Just be aware of any restrictions.
After looking at the floating litter trap, we then walk along the path to the pier to complete the journey that our storm water makes.
Weather at this time of year can do anything, so Ambassadors must come with weather appropriate clothes.
If there has been lots of rain prior to the day, the area around the wetlands can get pretty muddy so I always wear gumboots.
If you don't have any, an old pair of runners with a change of shoes maybe a good idea, to keep your car clean!
As usual, Ambassadors bring all food etc, cameras, note/ipads.
At Least ONE adult with each group but more welcome.
There won't be any tea or coffee, sorry, but if you are bringing one, mine's a vanilla Chai latte, thanks.
Can you let me know by Friday 12 June, at the latest of your attendance. I may need to organise a second member of staff if numbers are big.
